
Roger Capron
1938 - 1943 Enrols at the École des arts appliqués à l'Industrie in Paris, rue Dupetit-Thouars.
1946 Arrives in Vallauris, where he joins Robert Picault as a partner.
1947 Jean Derval joins the Callis studio and goes into partnership with Capron and Picault.
1948-1962 Suzanne Ramié encourages them to take part in the first exhibition at Nérolium.
1949-1951 The Callis studio becomes the Capron studio.
1953-1965 Participates in the Salon des Métiers d'Art organised by the Chambre syndicale des céramistes de France.
1963 The workshop expands and becomes a factory.
1966 Meets architect François Druet.
1967 Jean Derval joins the research team.
1968 Ministry of Cultural Affairs prize at the first International Biennial of Art Ceramics, Vallauris.
1969 Capron begins manufacturing stoneware.
1975 Creation of Cercle du soleil, a subsidiary of SA.
1983 Jean-Michel Carré invites him to continue his work with Caraube.
1984 Exhibits from 1984 to 1992 in Vallauris, France, Zuffenhausen, Heiningen, Bremen, Germany and Piacenza, Italy.
1987 Initiated by his ceramist son Philippe, he experiments with rapid-firing and ‘American raku’ firing techniques.
1991 Opening of a new workshop in Vallauris in collaboration with his wife, Jacotte, and Jean-Paul Bonnet. Creation of unique pieces for galleries around the world.
