
Mario Mascarin
Mario Mascarin began his career with a commercial training, then pursued his path in the field of journalism. Exiled to Norway to escape fascism, he discovers pottery and trains as a ceramist.
1930Works in various Swiss companies, first in Thayngen where he meets Edouard Chapallaz and Philippe Lambercy, then in Basel from 1943.
1935Opens his own workshop near Zurich
1943Founding member of the Federation of Free Italian Colonies.
1947Opens his new workshop in Muttenz
1959Founding member of the Swiss Ceramicists' Association - later the Association of Swiss Ceramicists. Mario Mascarin is a pioneer in the research of stoneware and high-temperature glazes in Switzerland.
