Type 600 lamp
Emblematic and very rare version of the "Type600" lamp by the Swiss design couple Rosmarie & Rico Baltensweiler. This version of the "Type600" lamp, designed in 1950, was produced in their workshop from about 1950 to 1958, until the launch of the second version in 1958. According to the Gestaltung Museum with the support of the Baltensweiler couple, this first version was produced in no more than 500 units. The lamp was used by filmmaker Jacques Tati as a prop in the film "Mon oncle". It was selected by Le Corbusier to furnish several apartments, including the Villa Shodhan in India, in 1956. The object we offer is in good condition, despite some minor restorations. The black lacquer of the lampshade has been repainted, and the tube has been welded beforehand. Some traces of normal use. This "Type600" floor lamp offers numerous possibilities for positioning, direct or indirect lighting. Standard electrical system (standard E27 socket).
