Pair of armchairs designed by Adolf Gustav Schneck in the 1920s. Rare model created for the Viennese manufacturer Thonet. The Thonet factory was founded in 1819 by Michael Thonet, a pioneer in design who used bentwood to make furniture. The factory later developed tubular furniture made from bent steel tubing, including the famous modernist creations of the Bauhaus. The pair of armchairs on offer are in good condition, with the wood and patina entirely original and the cane seating replaced several decades ago. Branded signature on the seat band. Sold as a pair.
