Ceramic box
Beautiful stoneware box by Japanese artist Shozo Michikawa. Shozo Michikawa was born in Hokkaido in 1953, is a member of the IAC, and participates in major exhibitions around the world. The piece is turned and distorted, typical of the artist's creations. The boxes are quite rare, and the lacquer work on the lid is unusual and seems to me to add an extra touch of finesse to the work of this master ceramist. The piece is finished in white Shino-style glaze for maximum simplicity. Piece realized in the late 1990s/early 2000s. Signed on the base. Piece in perfect condition.
