Ceramic vase
A rare vase by Edouard Chapallaz featuring celadon glazing and some blue crystallization. This piece was wheel-thrown and produced for a limited edition by the M.A.D. (Museum of Decorative Arts in Lausanne) in 1988, which enabled him to finance his first book. All the pieces had the same shape, but the glazing was different on each one. There are about fifteen of these pieces from the MUDAC collection currently on display at the museum in Lausanne. The piece is signed on the base with the studio’s stamp and the M.A.D. number 5/100. The piece is in perfect condition.
